The Palm Beach International Film Festival was honored to have Michael Jackson attend the 2003 Awards Presentation.

He will be greatly missed and always remembered as a musical icon and a true supporter of the arts.

Filmmakers from Around the World to attend PBIFF!

Starting today, Thursday April 23, 2009 filmmakers from all corners of the globe will begin to arrive at the 14th annual Palm Beach International Film Festival. With screenings of more than 110 films, parties, seminars, and panels it is an event that should not be missed!

Whether it's a comedy, documentary or short film, there is something for everyone! Come out to a screening to participate in an audience Q&A with directors, producers, writers and the casts of our excellent independent films. More information is available on our website, www.pbifilmfest.org!

PBIFF Kicks-Off Thursday April 23rd!

The 2009 Palm Beach International Film Festival kicks-off tomorrow, Thursday April 23rd! Five exciting days of films, parties, panels and seminars followed by a "Best of the Fest" Weekend.

Charles Martin Smith's Stone of Destiny will open the festival Thursday night at Sunrise Cinemas at Mizner Park followed by the most fabulous party in Palm Beach County at the Mizner Rooftop. Tickets are almost gone, get yours now by calling the film festival office at (561) 362-0003.

2009 Film Line-Up Announced!

The Palm Beach International Film Festival has announced the 2009 film line-up! Check out our films, event schedule, seminars and panels at www.pbifilmfest.org.

The line-up will include 110 films from around the world. Opening night will kick off with Stone of Destiny written and directed by Charles Martin Smith (American Graffiti, The Untouchables) who is scheduled to be in attendance stars Charlie Cox, Kate Mara, Robert Carlyle (Full Monty), Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings) and Ciaron Kelly. Stone of Destiny retells the true story of four young Glaswegian students who, in 1951, outwitted the British authorities in their successful attempt to take back the Coronation Stone - Stone of Scone, a beloved symbol of Scottish pride from Westminster Abbey back to it's country of origin.

Closing Night will feature the romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer. Directed by Marc Webb and starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this is a story of boy meets girl, and a true-to-life and unique dissection of the unruly and unpredictable year-and-a-half of one young man’s no-holds-barred love affair.

Opening Night at the Bermuda International Film Festival!

Friday, March 20th was Opening Night at the Bermuda Fest and they kicked off with a film out of Denmark, Flame & Citron. The film takes place in 1944 Denmark during the Nazi occupation. Based on fact, the drama centers on two war resistors and how heroic acts provoked reprisals against innocent civilians. In attendance was Thure Lindhardt who plays Flame. Thure can be seen in the upcoming film Angels & Demons starring Tom Hanks.
